Exposed beams and central fireplace give much character to this single bar open plan pub. There is a large garden with a children's play area. It's a popular eating place with an à la carte menu. There are occasional guest beers.

Historic Interest

used to be listed in Norwich Rd The building dates from the late 15th or early 16th century, with several subsequent alterations. However, even though there has been a Sorrel Horse pub near here for some time, it has only been located in the present building since early in the 19th century. The 1837 OS map shows it as the "New Sorrel Horse", & Alfred Hedges' book, "Inns & Inn signs of Norfolk & Suffolk" tells us that the original Sorrel Horse was on the other side of the road, but was demolished to make way for Shrubland Hall.
