Large roadside privately owned hotel of international standard, it is situated about 1.5 miles from town centre by the canal and main road. The hotel bar (up the main staircase) has comfortable low sofas and tables typical of the type, but a more interesting beer choice than most. Outdoor seating on balcony over the main entrance. Gym, swimming pool, sauna and steam room are available. Open to non-hotel guests. As at Spring 2022 a large banner facing the canal declares that canal and towpath users are welcome.
