This popular village pub is locally owned and run. Parts of the thatched Grade II listed building date from the 15th century. Inside it combines traditional wooden beams with a light, open appearance. The decor, including a huge model of the Cutty Sark, is of nautical or local interest. There are up to six real ales, four of them locally sourced. An extensive food menu makes use of local sourced ingredients. Theme nights and live music occasionally.

Historic Interest

Originally a thatched house, containing part of a 14th century cruck, some 16th century framing and 18th century brickwork. With mid-19th century alterations it opened as a public house in 1866. Historic England say 18th Century Grade II Listed, list entry 1365579
