Popular town centre pub set back from the busy main shopping street, with a single L-shaped bar area, old beams have been retained in the back lounge. Good value bar meals are served. Quiz night on Wednesday. An impressive selection of gin, rum and whisky. The large, secluded garden at the rear has a pond.

Historic Interest

The building dates back to 1730 and was first licensed in 1754. Listed in Bagshaw's Directory of 1850. A Birkenhead Brewery pub, possibly known as the Foresters Arms around 1841. The old photo shows the pub in the late 1920s. Selling Whitbread beers in the 1980s.
