Brewers Tudor building, the middle of three pubs in close proximity on Coton Hill. Owned by Black Country Ales, several of whose pubs serve a wide range of real ales, this one only has three or four at one time. Three handpumps are given over to Cider (which may not be "real" as defined by CAMRA). The interior is divided into two rooms, one of which has a log fire. TV screens are dotted around the bar. There is a small car park to the rear and B&B is available.

Historic Interest

A former Courage tied house, the 'Courage' sign on the frontage has only recently been removed. However the associated golden cockerel above the pub sign still remains as a relic of those days (2017). One of the 15 pubs in the Branch area appearing in the 1974 Good Beer Guide, the entry was brief but here's what it said! "John Smith. Attractive pub with good beer; cosy and friendly".
