In a beautiful setting by the picturesque church and village green, the 17th century Royal Oak is situated in the centre of the village and is a lovely place to sit outside on a summer's day. There is a small entrance porch leading to a cosy bar where homemade meals are served.At one end of the bar is an attractive fire. There is further dining space at the back up some stairs, which is sometimes used for functions, and leads into a patio garden at the back which can also be accessed from the car park. There is also a front garden with an outside bar. The pub is a popular destination with walkers and cyclists (for whom there is a lockable cycle rack) and dogs are welcome. The Felday Brewery used to operate from a building adjacent to the pub, but this closed in late 2024. Note that pub and kitchen opening hours vary seasonally, so check with the pub web site for current information.
