A former coaching inn, this hotel is in a building having parts from the 14th and 16th centuries, although most of it is relatively modern. The bar and restaurant is open to the public and serves two cask beers from Hopback Brewery. There is a comfortable seating area next to the bar for those wishing to have a drink. Food is served lunchtimes and evenings every day, with a children's menu as well. Traditional lunches are served on Sundays. There are 27 hotel rooms and a large function room available for events and special occasions. The city centre is about ten minutes walk.
