With a well-worn 16th-century facade and great views from the rear terrace and sun-trap patio, this tavern spans centuries and generations. The wide, low front doorway leads to the traditional bar where the more mature clientele gather. A portholed archway leads to the modern building where younger drinkers congregate. Real log fires warm both bars. There is a pool room and function room for live music most Saturdays and sometimes on other days. Guest beers remain constant for around three months at a time and come from south-west breweries.

No lunch or evening meals but there are bar snacks, rolls, pasties and cakes and occasional 'pop-up' food events.
