The Anchor is an old pub which has been comprehensively renovated in recent years. The result is a brighter more modern feel, making it a friendly and comfortable place to loiter. The bar is in the centre with a rectangle of three rooms surrounding it, together with a large separate dining room seating up to 50 people. The lounge area on the inner side has a mix of low and high seating together with interesting old pictures of Whitchurch.

Cask beer discontinued in 2019. Confirmed no cask ale June 2024.
