This is a restaurant, where drinking alcohol, including draught and bottled beer, is only allowed when food is being consumed.

Dating from the mid 1700's this traditional pub was acquired by the current landlord in summer 2010 and has undergone extensive refurbishment. The pub retains much of its original character including quirky bar stools depicting local trades. A single bar pub with one handpump, it specialises in locally sourced ales from Central Scotland. Accomodation is available and pub grub "with finesse" is now the emphasis - served in the bar, courtyard, restauant and dedicated function room. Doune Castle and Blair Drummond Safari Park are within easy reach as is a Red Kite viewing area. A weekly quiz is held.
