Following a period of closure when planning permission for change of use was refused, the pub has reopened with a new owner, and has been refurbished. Originally built in 1841 this no nonsense pub serves 3 beers, several from local breweries. It has a table signed by aircrew. Situated near to the Kirkby Air Museum it is popular with airmen and has its own campsite.
