A busy town centre pub with a late license and a young clientele.

There is a restaurant (open noon-2pm) occasional street food and also vegan options and outdoor seating. There's occasional Live Music.

Historic Interest

Also listed as being in Stowupland St. (before arrival of railway) A report in the Ipswich Journal*** in Nov 1880 states that : Died on the 21st Elizabeth Westron, aged 27, the fourth daughter of William & Elizabeth Game of the Queen’s Head. A report in the Bury & Norfolk Post & Suffolk Herald** on 03 Feb in 1885 makes reference to Mr THURSTON providing the annual tradesmen's Dinner at the Queen's Head, Stowmarket. In 1900 listed as a commercial inn with horses, ponies, waggonettes & traps on hire by day, month or year; good stabling accommodation for horses. In 1912 (and earlier) is listed as a commercial hotel. Built by John Cobbolds brewery & owned by them for most of its history. Replaced an earlier pub of same name at was formerly in Bury St. The pub was called Capone's between 2000 & 2005.
