Independent free house situated next to the railway station. The pub survived a planning tussle a few years hen the previous owners wanted to convert it to residential accommodation, it has come back stronger.
There is a the comfortable lounge area, whilst at the upper end is a restaurant style area, although the pub does good quality food without being a restaurant. There is a weekly board games night and occasionally live music events. There is a large beer garden, with a separate children’s play area, another area offering undercover smoking large enough for six trestle tables, and an outdoor patio that also accommodates smokers.
The four regular beers are complemented by two rotating beers and one real draught cider.
Located by bridge 75 on the Macclesfield canal, the pub enjoys direct access from the tow-path.
