Independent free-house situated next to the railway station. The pub survived a planning tussle a few years hen the previous owners wanted to convert it to residential accommodation, it has come back stronger.
There is a the comfortable lounge area, whilst at the upper end is a restaurant style area, although the pub does good quality food without being a restaurant. There is a weekly board games night and occasionally live music events. There is a large beer garden, with a separate children’s play area, another area offering undercover smoking large enough for 6 trestle tables, and an outdoor patio that also accommodates smokers.
The 4 regular beers are complemented by 2 rotating beers and one real draught cider.
Located by bridge 75 on the Macclesfield canal, the pub enjoys direct access from the tow-path.
