Two separate bars and an enclosed courtyard to rear. Popular with diners and offering fish specialties.

Note current landlords stepping down January 2026.

Historic Interest

Large timbered inn with parts dating from 16th cent. Reported at 17 High Street in 1881 & 19 in 1891. Historically listed as a commercial & family hotel & posting house. Good accomm. for cyclists in 1900. Also a Victorian brewery was located here. Assembly rooms are mentioned here in 1900, 1912 & 1922 directories.
