The former White Hart became the acclaimed Backstreet Bistro in 2004 but returned to being a pub in February 2017 when City Pub Company bought it and renamed it as the Petersfield. City Pub Company was subsequently purchased by Youngs. In April 2026 the Petersfield was sold by Youngs to Trust Inns.

The entrance leads into a large L-shaped main bar, decorated in a fairly traditional manner with modern touches. There is also a more intimate smaller room behind the bar. There are five handpumps (not all are used) and several keg lines. Modern food menu.

The terrace outside has separate non-smoking and smoking areas.
