The building dates from the 16th century and still has many original features including an inglenook fireplace with stones scavenged from Pershore Abbey after it was dissolved by Henry VIII, and a priest hole in the massive chimney structure. The pub was a favourite with locals in the 1960s, 70s and 80s when it was The Chestnut Club, and has the smallest designated ballroom in the country. There is an open bar and snug with exposed beams, and a games room with darts, pool and TV.
