Popular pub just off the town centre dating from the 17th Century and a short walk from the SVR railway station. The bar has four hand pumps offering local and national ales. Quality meals are served all day throughout the pub. Outside is a heated gazebo and a garden full of flowers in spring and summer. The excellent views make this an ideal spot to drink and dine al-fresco.

The pub's reputation for good food at reasonable prices means that it can be very busy. At peak times it may be necessary to suspend service at the bar, service being restricted to people seated at tables. This includes the large number of seats outside in the garden.
