Reopened in February 2026 by Peter & Amanda the pub was originally two pubs, The Oak and The Black Dog. They aim to revitalise the pub and make it the heart of the community of this picturesque village. There are daily specials on the menu. An outdoor cinema screen will add to the summer entertainment.

There is a car park at the back of the pub. Three steps (with a grab rail) lead from the car park in to a corridor to the toilets & bar. There is a step to the front door from the road - no pavement. Inside the bar & toilets are on the same level, six steps lead to a small games room. The garden is reached via a flight of ten steps from the rear patio. No accessible toilet.
