Unpretentious, without an external pub sign or even name, this ex-Courage corner house is now an independent venue with a strong orientation to live music. One of a dying breed of back-street boozers in the area, quite spartan inside, it has a clientèle of locals and music lovers. A free cheese board is available on Sunday, cribbage night is on Monday and quiz night on Wednesday. 4 handpumps.

Historic Interest

In the early 1970’s the pub was the venue for Glenn Tilbrook and Jools Holland’s first live gig, leading to them gaining a residency there and going on to gig at other local venues.
