Reopened on 29 August 2025 with new tenant Tom after a 3 month closure. No longer tied to Youngs. 4 changing cask ales on offer.

Friendly one bar pub. Full of bric-a-brac with a fabulous collection of novelty salt and pepper pots. These have been donated by customers returning from holidays. Previous Landlord left behind a bath shower mixer tap which sits on the fireplace!

The Lord Nelson Community Group successfully obtained an ACV from Barnet Council in September 2022.

The Charter Market Quarter has many historical links. One of the only free-standing medieval civic clock towers, the site of the First Battle of St. Albans in 1455, during the Wars of the Roses. Allegedly the Boot Inn played host to soldiers fighting in the battle. There used to be 23 pubs around the Market area!
