King Street, Bristol, BS1 4ER (View on Google Map)

Architecturally important and impressive Grade-II listed pub dating from 1664, on historic, cobbled King Street. Daniel Defoe reputedly met Alexander Selkirk here (the inspiration for Robinson Crusoe) and it is also said to have inspired The Admiral Benbow pub in Stephenson's Treasure Island. The pub is alleged to be haunted. The ground floor has distinctive drinking areas with historic features; a separate room at the rear has pool tables, and there are also several rooms upstairs. Extensive seating outside is shared with The Old Duke and other pubs on the street. Up to five changing cask ales are served along with over 25 keg lines, from UK and German & Czech Republic breweries, as well as two real ciders. Tap take overs feature, & numerous events are held regularly including sea shanty singing, comedy evenings & bluegrass music. Friday & Saturday evenings feature techno music in the Red Room. Card payments only. Beer lists are updated regularly on their website. Socials include Instagram: search llandoger_trow.
