The Lifeboat was taken on in March 2026 by FLOC Brewery which is based near Canterbury. Currently it sells a range of craft beers from the brewery plus a few guests. The name FLOC comes from a term used within the brewing industry. When the brewing yeast begins to fall out of suspension that is called flocculation.
The pub is a former wine bar in the old town area which reopened as small pub in May 2010 specialising in real ale, plus real cider and perry. It last featured in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide in 2022.
