This two bar traditional pub is well sited near the town centre. One bar has a large screen plus a side 'snug', the other is set mainly for eating and also used for Quizzes.
Meals are served daily (except Tuesday). Local produce is a focus.
Outside is a large seated area including a covered area and a TV for events.
Music events are occasionally held, both inside and out.
Built in 1575 the building became an inn in 1675. The refurbishment has been sympathetic, retaining the original features of the building.
Doggy Roasts are available, and there is a good Whisky bar of around 30.
It is listed as an Asset of Community Value.
