Historic Interest

Purpose built in the 1830's during the reign of King William IV by the Brocklebank family who built Bank Springs brewery, Kirkstanton which eventually had 12 pubs. The final brew at Kirkstanton brewery was July 1954. All the pubs except the King Billy were sold to Matthew Brown. In 1979 the pub was purchased from the relatives of the Brocklebanks. The Walkers removed 2 walls opening up the pub and started selling food. One famous guest in the Bed and Breakfast has been Alex "Hurricane" Higgins. See the folder in the pub for more information.
