An impressive conversion by Wetherspoon of a former retail store, the pub opened in June 2011. Offers up to seven changing beers.

The pub is named after the performances by The Jolly Tars concert parties, between the 2 world wars. Their Great Benefit Night Programme, on 15 August 1931, attracted a 2,000-strong audience and was reported in the local press as “a great success”.
