Former Banks's pub the Weston Vaults (later, briefly and unsuccessfully, the Aber Vaults) was transformed in late 2014 into this self-styled "cocktail bar and Caribbean restaurant. Despite this designation, the ground floor functions in effect as a pub, where the enthusiastic and friendly licensee takes particular pride in the range of 40 rums. Authentic Caribbean food (a-la-carte restaurant upstairs, bar meals downstairs) has garnered enthusiastic reviews. A formerly underperforming pub has become a distinctive and welcome addition to Aberystwyth's drinking scene. Quite often opens before 5pm, and may conceivably do so regularly in summer.
