This is a club, which means that the bar may be only open to members.

The Club was formed in the late 1860s and is now one of London's most exclusive sports clubs. It has a Georgian clubhouse set on a vast 42-acre site on the Thames, forcing a long diversion of the northern Thames Footpath at that point. Polo, tennis, bowls, skittles etc. are all played here plus indoor pursuits such as chess, backgammon and card games. The Club is a popular venue for corporate events and its own include its Grand Prix Ball. The clubhouse has a restaurant and Polo Bar with its own terrace. The gardens have received many awards over the years.

Membership is over 10,000 and is currently closed.

Historic Interest

The Club served as one of the venues for the 1908 London Olympics, hosting the tug-of-war.
