Charming 16th century coaching house, on the edge of the hamlet of Caulcott, with a warm and cosy welcoming open fire in the winter. This genuine free house offers three changing ales from both local (Church End, Goff's, Tring, and Vale) and national breweries.
Owned by French landlord Jerome, since 2006, the passion he has for food is reflected in a regularly changing menu based on local fresh seasonal produce, a speciality sausage menu, and a traditional croque monsieur at lunchtime. Booking is recommended, especially Thursday steak night, and Sunday lunch.
No dogs are permitted inside, just in the garden. The good-sized garden is popular in summer. Car parking is available nearby.
Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
