Hop House, Urmston

This is a small new bar (fire limit is 70) aimed at an older, more discerning clientele and showcasing world beers. These include UK cask ales and kraft keg and bottles, mainly from Europe and North America. Unusually for this area, it offers table service (except on Friday and Saturday evenings). Bottled beers include König Ludwig (Weiss and Dunkel) from Bavaria and Viru from Estonia. Two handpumps dispense an ever changing selection of cask ales.The interior décor is quirky, with a row of old wooden doors along one wall and animal print wallpaper on another. The main window features a very long leather sofa lines while a side wall boasts antique wooden furniture, rescued from a church in Wales (they are an unusual hybrid of pew and booth seating, looking oddly like misericords but without hinged seats).
