A little out of the town centre and built as a farmhouse in 1693, this picturesque Grade II listed building has a warm, almost country pub feel to it. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Always three, sometimes four well-kept cask ales are available, often from Gadds, Wantsum and Tonbridge with others from further afield occasionally making an appearance. A good wine selection by the glass. No food is served but a free cheese buffet and roasties are provided at Sunday lunchtimes.
