A real country pub in the Blackdown Hills area of outstanding natural beauty. The only pub in England with this name – a clavel is a beam across the fireplace and hewn from holm oak.

Two pen fires, no TV or machines. Children, dogs, walkers, cyclists and muddy boots are all welcome.

Food is sourced from local farmers and suppliers. Gluten free diners and vegetarian menus. Regular live music.

Happy hour Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 2 to 6pm.
