Award-winning inn situated in the beautiful grounds of Gunton Park with its deer herd, featuring tasteful and 'interesting' decor, comfortable furnishings and log fires in winter, in the style of a country house.
The large and well-stocked bar has plenty of seating with views across the park. East Anglian ales predominate, with regular guests. The first-class restaurant features some dishes cooked in the vaulted main dining room. Snacks are also available all day, plus sandwiches from 12-5 on Saturdays.
Accommodation is sumptuous and cosy, and most rooms overlook the thousand acres of restored parkland.
Access information
There are no steps at the main entrance and the bar is located on the ground floor.
We do have a disabled toilet on the ground floor.
The toilet area is on the ground floor and accessible, though space may be more limited for larger wheelchairs.
The building is Grade II listed, and while we welcome many wheelchair users who visit us regularly, the doorways remain at their original widths and have not been widened. As a result, some larger wheelchairs may find access more restricted.
Our main car park is a short walk from the pub. However, as we are situated within a deer park and the property is fenced, we are able to arrange disabled parking closer to the building with advance notice.
We always do our best to accommodate all guests and are happy to assist wherever possible. If visitors have specific access requirements, we encourage them to contact us in advance so we can ensure the most comfortable experience.
Conversion
A hotel and bar that started as the shooting lodge to Gunton Hall and is set in beautiful Gunton Park. It was bought by an art dealer and his artist wife and radically transformed into a characterful pub, restaurant and hotel in 2011. It features tasteful, comfortable furnishings and log fires, in the style of a country house. The large bar has views across the thousand acres of historic parkland which has herds of deer. The visual treats include a vaulted dining room and an old-style bar that encourages drinkers to enjoy the charm of the building alongside diners.
