Large, open-plan pub that is just a few minutes walk from the city centre bus and train interchange. It is friendly and welcoming and has easy access throughout the ground floor for all visitors. There is a first-floor function room but the only bar is on the ground floor. The impressive gothic-styled City Hall and the nearby City Park are visible from the front of the pub. Bingo competitions take place on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. A DJ plays on Friday and Saturday nights and live bands perform occasionally. On Sunday nights, there is a DJ karaoke and bingo. Children are permitted for families ordering meals. Facilities for the disabled are present and guide dogs are permitted.

As from Sep 2023, it was noted that real ale is not always available.
