Plenty of George Orwell memorabilia and themed book covers compliment the contemporary decoration, to provide a great literary atmosphere. In November 2023 the pub's 10-year anniversary was celebrated by the GO Pub Quiz group, who continue to meet on Monday nights. Arts and jazz events regularly take place. Two real ales are usually served, often from ultra-local Law Brewing; the changing Kelburn beers are reported to be no longer sourced. A good selection of bottled ales and craft beers are also available. Normal opening confirmed from 4pm every day apart from Sunday.
