A spacious family-run hotel with a comfortable bar and lounges, offering a warm welcome to locals and visitors alike with real ales offered from both sides of the Border. Food features prominently and is served all day, and includes various specials and children's options. The partially covered enclosed suntrap beer garden has plenty of seating. Popular with walkers, cyclists and, naturally, Melrose rugby supporters. There is a pleasant walk along the river or a bus from the rail terminus at Tweedbank.

NOTE: May close earlier if quiet.
