A comfortable and spacious Wetherspoon pub in a modern building on a leisure complex 300yds south of the rail & bus stations. It is also only an 800yds drive north of the A27/A286 roundabout to the car park so makes a useful place for motorists to take a break. From the roundabout go left at first traffic lights then left at the next. Car parking nearby is free but limited to 4 hours. All the usual Wetherspoons festivals and menus feature. There is a good selection of bottled craft beers from around the world. It used to be branded as a Lloyds No1 bar, but has since dropped the music, while the clientele has increased in average age and become more food oriented. Food served from 9am - 11 and Sunday lunches from 12 - 5. The décor includes areas of exposed brickwork, a large gas fire, and an open staircase to the toilets on a mezzanine floor. Seating includes several screened bays opposite the bar. Smokers can satisfy their habit on the sunny front patio. A large screen is used to show major sports events.
