Private member's social and sports club. Founded in 1944, the year giving the club its name, opened in the former Rookery Hall by prominent local businessmen in 1945.

Regular entertainment Saturday evening. Function room for hire. Traditional games, Crown Green bowling and with a rifle and pistol range on the site.
