Grade II listed building in the shadow of St Marys Church which dates back to the 12th century. The pub itself is probably 17th century with a late 18th century extension. Low ceilings with exposed beams. Real ale has recently been reintroduced. .

Historic Interest

Grade II listed:- Probably C17 with late Cl8 left extension stretching back, of brownish brick with brick dentil cornice. Main front part has mid C19 stuccoed parapet front of 2 storeys, 2 windows. Steeply pitched roof with hipped end to road and compound stack of old brick. All roofs tiled. Mid C19 sash windows with vertical bars. Central double door in modified entablature surround. Right return shows 2 mid-Cl9 canted oriels on 1st floor. Some chamfered beams inside.
