Situated on the Mersey promenade near the site of the former Egremont Ferry, the pub is split into several drinking areas including a split level - with bar area below and comfortable lounge area above with panoramic views of the River Mersey and the Liverpool waterfront. Another lounge area at bar level has views towards the mouth of the Mersey. Attractively decorated throughout with old photographs of the local area and other nautical themes. Food is served daily until 8pm.

Historic Interest

Dating from at least 1850 when listed in Bagshaw's Directory as the Egremont Hotel. Later known as the Egremont Tap, a Yates's Castle Brewery pub, acquired by Higsons in 1901 and changed name to the Egremont Ferry in 1925. Described in 1980 as a popular riverside local selling Higsons Mild and Bitter by handpump. By that time it was one of only three or four pubs in Wirral which still had table service. Several old photos show the pub at earlier times.
