Beware, Wainwright and Hobgoblin beers sold at this pub are keg brewery conditioned beers misleadingly served by handpump. They are not cask conditioned (real ales). No Cask Conditioned beers (Real Ales) are sold at this pub.

Reopened in autumn 2024, ground floor of large former hotel with emphasis on food. Spectacular views over the river Mersey.

Historic Interest

Built in 1843 as the Stanley Arms, almost immediately changed name to the Eastham Ferry Hotel. Grade II listed. Listed in Bagshaw's Directory of 1850. Adjacent to the hotel were pleasure gardens including a zoo with a grand entrance arch (see the old photo) which was a copy of the Marble Arch in London. The arch and the zoo are long gone and the site now forms part of Eastham Country Park. Opposite the hotel are the remains of the ferry landing stage. After over two years closed, the pub was refurbished and reopened in autumn 2024 with some old internal features being removed.
