An old 16th century coaching inn and hotel that is tastefully furnished throughout, with 21 rooms. There's a separate restaurant and bar areas.

There are regular jazz nights on the 4th Thursday of every month and a jazz jam on the 2nd Thursday of every month.

Real ale is no longer regularly stocked due to low demand.

Historic Interest

The building dates from the 17th century, with an 18th century façade. A report in the Ipswich Journal** in 30 March 1839 states that : Mr CUNDY, of the Crown Hotel, Woodbridge, providing an excellent dinner for 120 gentlemen, in a building...which was decorated with laurel, & well lighted with gas. The 1904 Woodbridge licensing records show that the Crown's license was issued in 1843. This is probably when it got a full (ie not just beer) license. Historical Tavern & posting house that dates back to the early days of the 16th century, has been since "the meeting place of the townsfolk when any serious business was to be transacted, or when a freshener was bestowed upon the travelling preacher". 1840 Pigot's Directory lists the Excise Office at Crown Tavern. In 1888 also listed as headquarters of the Cyclist Touring club
