Opened in 1847, this large open plan pub has mainly seating in front section, standing at the bar and a rear section houses a pool table, dominoes and dartboard. There is a patio section at the rear. There are two large screen TVs with Sky sports, plus occasional events featuring karaoke, live music or a disco. Although there is no regular menu, sandwiches can be ordered ad-hoc between 12-9pm or for events. The guest beer is usually a seasonal ale from Greene King and often there are stronger ales served from the cellar e.g. Abbot and Abbot Reserve.
