Cooper Rose, Sunderland

This popular pub opened in 2011 and is named after the Cooper Rose vaccinator used by Dr Henry Renney who lived in Albion Place in the 1890's, The main bar on the ground floor has two banks of six handpulls serving the three core beers and up to four changing guest ales. The upstairs' bar has six handpulls with the three core beers and up to three changing ales that also feature on the main bar. Pub takes 50p off CAMRA cask ale vouchers There is also an outside area to the rear of the pub.

During a refurbishment in 2022 a roof terrace was added with views to the south and west. The centre of the main bar is open above with the roof skylight giving extra light below.

Meals are served all day and children are welcome till 8.30 pm

A plaque outside the main entrance documents the history of the pub. One of the many historical pictures dotted around the pub is a one, just inside the door, giving further information about the building.
