Micropub.

This grade II listed building (originally built in 17th century and extended at the rear in the 18th century) was converted to a pub in 2021. The long narrow building has original wooden floor boards throughout and is decorated with a nautical theme. The front has modern wood panelled walls and a small curved wooden bar with a brick arch above. A passageway leads (past a stairway) to a rear snug with bare brick walls and a wood burner. Beyond this is a large patio area with chairs/tables made from converted barrels, plus additional benches. Upstairs is a room for up to 20 people. The pub is table service only despite no food being served.

Historic Interest

Early 18th century Grade II Listed. Originally one house but now split into 8 & 9 Market Place, the Cocky Anchor is in the left half. Historic England list entry 1277211
