This Pub is Permanently Closed

Converted to a coffee shop.

A Grade II* Listed Building, once a fine traditional town pub called the Coach and Horses, an entry in the first four editions of the Good Beer Guide. It subsequently went through a number of incarnations, including being a rockers pub and a mock Irish bar, before finally ceasing trading as pub in 2009, when it became a tapas bar. In 2012 it became a branch of the coffee shop chain, Caffè Nero.

Historic Interest

Not as old as it appears; the Georgian-style windows being added in 1962. It is on, or adjacent to, the sire of the Golden Horseshoe, which existed in the 18th century (source: Licensed Farnham by Jean Parratt).
