Old coaching inn built in the late 18th century by local worthies in the centre of the historic old county town. It was a former Wetherspoon conversion but sold to a new chain that has retained many of the previous features, including the commitment to cask ale. There is live music on most Mondays and bingo and karaoke often feature on other evenings.
