Historic Interest
The first landlord named the pub The Chindit in honour of his friends, Eric Butler, who served in the Chindit Regiment in Burma in WWII. It is thought to be the only pub in the country honouring Major General Orde Wingate’s WWII special forces; their history is displayed in the lounge.
