A large Victorian community local pub in the Chatterton Village area of Bromley Common. It is well-maintained with many original features, popular with local shoppers and residents. This has regular live music and shows important sports on TV.

Rebranded as a "Craft Union Pub" in 2018 when the pub was considerably improved by a refurbishment.

As of August 2020, cask ale not available, due - according to management - lack of demand following the Covid lockdown.

Historic Interest

Built in 1882 and opened in 1883 as the Chatterton Hotel, this served as the new premises for a nearby beer-house called the Chatterton Arms previously set up in the early 1870s. The name reverted back to the Chatterton Arms in 1890 but did not get its wine and spirit licence until 1906. Named after Chatterton Road, which in itself was named after the 18th C. poet Thomas Chatterton. The housing development started in the 1860s on former country estate and farmland following the coming of the railway to Bromley in 1858.
