Compact town-centre pub with a traditional atmosphere. Inside is a welcoming real fire, an original stone wall and dark wooden beams. Often busy on Saturday evenings and a venue for traditional musicians on Monday evenings in winter. The walls are adorned by rugby memorabilia interspersed with local historical material. Time can be spent reading the walls or catching up with sporting events on TV. Occasionally there are two real ales available. Children are not admitted.
