A corner street pub built in the mid-1800s along with the surrounding housing to accommodate those working in local industry. It is run on the lines of a traditional back street boozer and while it was reported to be not selling real ale recently, there is hope that this former Good Beer Guide stalwart will return to the fold. An interesting anecdote concerns the 'deadman's seat', a seat near the bar that is left vacant due to the fact a former unfortunate patron who was taken ill and passed away two weeks later. In pub terms, they don't make 'em like this any more.

Blaenavon High Level railway station (930m) is a part of Blaenavon's Heritage Railway and doesn't provide a regular service.
